He was predeceased by: his parents, Doc Montgomery and Southa Russell Montgomery; his children, Charles Montgomery, Jr., Dave Montgomery, James Montgomery and Deborah Horner; and his brothers, Coy, Troy, Jessie, Wayne and James Montgomery.
He is survived by: his wife Frances Born Montgomery; his children, Mary Etterling, Margaret Brown, Sandy McCann, Randy Montgomery, Mark Montgomery and Mike Montgomery; and his siblings, LeRoy Montgomery, Arnold Montgomery, Phyllis Greene and Anna Ruth Dalton. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
