He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Koontz and Martha Koontz (Moore); his wife Barbara Koontz (Alexander); his daughter-in-law Christine Koontz; his brothers, Charles and Hobert Koontz; and his granddaughter Amanda.
He is survived by: his children, Cheryl Scott (David) of Minerva, Kimberly Koontz of Boardman, Douglas Koontz of Minerva, Gregory Koontz of Wellsville and Steve Koontz of Wellsville; and his sister Linda Williams. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
