He was predeceased by: his wife Edith Mae Murphy (Severn); his daughter-in-law Marla Murphy; and his siblings, Elizabeth VanMeter, Mary Murphy, Margaret Murphy, Lee Murphy and Donald Murphy.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Murphy of Minerva and Richard Murphy (Judy) of Marion; and his brothers, Walter Murphy of Oklahoma City and John Murphy of Oklahoma City. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
