He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Carl Thompson and Mary Thompson (Stenger); his wife Paula (Biggins); his daughters, Carla Painter (Daniel) of Malvern and Kelly McNeil (Daniel) of Malvern; his grandchildren, Darcy Pearce (Shaun), Lauren Grubbs (Andrew), Chelsea and Rachel McNeil; his great grandchildren, Lillian, Leo, Maxwell and Carson; and his siblings, Evelyn Willis, Mary Wackerly and Robert Thompson.
