He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence "Kenny" Grimes and Edna Grimes (Morehead); his wife Shirley (Slingluff); and his siblings, Richard, Kenneth "Pete" Grimes, Bettie Weaver and Mildred Johnson.
He is survived by: his siblings, Gerald Grimes and Jean Ferguson; his children, Michael Grimes (Mei-Hui) of North Canton, Kevin Grimes (Kim) of Lima and Kendra Peterson (Lanny) of Carrollton; and his grandchildren, David, Matthew Grimes, Kaitlin Haugh, Jake Peterson, Kaeri and Kristen King. He is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.
