He was predeceased by: his parent Joseph Sr; his son Christopher Smith; and his brother Joseph Smith Jr.. He is survived by: his parent Mary Ellen Hammell Smith Sr.; his spouse May; his sons, Thomas "Steve" Smith Jr. of Centerburg, OH, Tim Smith of Mineral Ridge and Jeffrey Smith (Cindy) of Warren; his siblings, Mary Hake of Mineral Ridge, Doug Smith of Orwell and George Smith of Mineral Ridge; and his grandchildren, Jenna, Caitlin, Jacklynn and Nathaniel. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
