He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer W. Ault and Daisy Lear Ault; his wife Virginia Ellen Stowe; his brother George M. Ault; and his great grandchild Hannah Faith Byrne.

He is survived by: his children, Susan, Robert (Sherry) and William (Mary); his grandchildren, Ashley Ault-Byrne (Ethan), Christopher Ault (Heather), Megan Ault and Kelsey Ault; and his great grandchildren, Harper, Hadleigh, Shelby Byrne, Braxton, Bodie and Brinley Ault.
