He was predeceased by: his parents, Clyde "CJ" and Thelma James McElhaney. He is survived by: his significant other Norma Jo Pyle McElhaney; his children, Gene McElhaney, Jr. (Lynne) of Broadview Heights, Susan Sigg (Rob) of Lake Worth, Jeff McElhaney (Kari) of Mineral Ridge and Daniel McElhaney (Maddie) of Warren; his grandchildren, Kyle Spino (Amanda) of Broadview Heights, Brittany Mundarain (Brandon) of Santa Rosa, Tanner, Toby and Tenley McElhaney of Mineral Ridge; and his siblings, Dan McElhaney of Niles and Bonnie Killin of Niles. He is also survived by his in-laws, many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

At the request of the family, anyone attending the calling hours or funeral service are requested to wear a mask.

Memorial contributions can be made in Gene's name to the New Hope United Methodist Church Youth Group 21 Fairview Ave. SE Niles, OH 44446.
