She was predeceased by: her parents, Clarence Carey and Arthuretta Carey (Taulker); her husband John "Jack" Nichols; her daughter-in-law Amy Nichols; and her brother Ronald Carey.
She is survived by: her sons, John Nichols (Sarah) of Millfield, Tom Nichols (Mary Tillman) of Toledo and Terry Nichols of Georgetown, Kentucky; her grandchildren, Melissa Bostater (Craig), Melinda Nichols, Travis Nichols (Nikki), Monica Humphrey (Mark Patton), Charles Humphrey III, Kyle Nichols, Nicole Magsino (Ricci), Derek Nichols (Ashley), Max Nichols, Megan Nichols and Bryan Nichols (Mary); her cousin Cheryl Nolan (John); her sisters, Barb Stentz, Phyllis Brown (Jim) and Margaret Graves (Bob); and her sister-in-law Martha Carey. She is also survived by 22 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren.
To keep with Ruth's giving nature, the family is asking that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
