She was predeceased by: her parents, David Flowers and Lillie Flowers (Jordan); her husband Charles R. Nelson Sr; her son Charles R. Nelson Jr.; and her siblings, Virgil, Russell, David "Bud", Velma, Sadie, Eva, Margaret and Betty.
She is survived by: her children, Roger Nelson and Pennie Buchanan (Eric); and her grandchildren, Nedia Mathews (Tim), Heather Mathews (Mark), Eric Nelson, Matthew Masters, Mackenzie Waugh (Eric) and Erica Buchanan. She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
