He was predeceased by: his parents, Raleigh Blevins and Catherine Blevins (Davis); and his brothers, Raleigh "Jen" and Chuck. He is survived by: his wife Patricia A. Blevins (Kinder); his children, Cathy Linger (Steve), Michelle Gilmer (Clay), James Blevins Jr., Jason Blevins (Jennifer) and Jessica Blevins; and his siblings, Melva Ferguson, Timothy Blevins (Anna) and Robin Blevins (Gina). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jim to the American Cancer Society.
