He is survived by: his close friend Harriette "Pat" Dye; his children, Thomas Etling of Lady Lake and Melissa Etling of Long Beach, California; his daughters-in-law, Rhonda Harvey (David) of Millersburg and Dawn Avey (Eric) of Orrville, Ohio; his grandchildren, Daniel Hantzsche (Deanna), Mitchell Shaffer (Kelly) and Cadence Avey; his great grandchildren, Valerie and Audrey Shaffer; and his pet Maggie Mae.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
