He is survived by: his sister Mary Ellen Gingerich (Atlee); his nephew Kurt; his sister Martha Sommers (Douglas); his nephews, Scot Sommers (Corinna "Queenie") and Steven Sommers; his stepson David Shaw (Heather); his stepgrandchildren, Randi and Rylee; his stepdaughters, Kelli Shaw and Laura Shaw; his daughters, Heaven Lee and Kayla Shaw Lamb (Adam); his grandchildren, Logan, Rory, Mazie, Nova and Kristine Shaw (Jeff); his great grandchildren, Holly, Amanda and Alex; his daughter Jaime; his grandchildren, Chloe and John Michael; and also, Dahlia, Joni Sommers Liefheit (Michael), Mason, Brayden and Frank.

Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Berlin Fire Department.
