He was predeceased by: his mother Betty Casper; his adoptive father Martin Shaffer; and his son Kevin Shaffer. He is survived by: his wife Karen (Curren); his children, Lee Shaffer (Mary) of Millersburg, Trent Shaffer (Courtney) of Wooster and Jen Miller (Craig) of Millersburg; his grandchildren, Kelly Shaffer, Luke Shaffer, Tristen Shaffer, Tevin Shaffer, Sayler Miller, Mac Miller and Macin Miller; and his siblings, Betty Rae Andrews, Robert Grunden, Darlene Knapp, Debra Dougal and Kathy Habern. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
