He was predeceased by: his father Jack B. Lemon; and his brother-in-law Bruce Shaw. He is survived by: his mother Harriet Lemon (Brinkerhoff) of Wooster; his children, Don Lemon Jr. of Apple Creek and Misty Mateer of Homerville; his grandchildren, Katrina Lemon, Kye Lemon and Kya Lemon; his great grandchildren, Wayne, Hayden and Jace Sigler; his brother Rod; his sister-in-law Kathy Lemon of Fredericksburg; his sisters, Gloria Shaw of Holmesville and Linda Lemon of Holmesville; and his close friend Julie Massaro. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
