He was predeceased by: his parents, William Balbaugh and Laura Balbaugh (Schroeder); his wife JoAnn Buddelmeyer; and his siblings, Cornelius Balbaugh, Mary Ida Schroeder (Louis), Thomas Balbaugh and James Machunas (Leona).
He is survived by: his children, Michael Balbaugh (Dawn Schwab) of Miller City, David Balbaugh of Ottawa, Jonathon Balbaugh (Shelly) of Ottawa, Jean Schmenk (Jim) of New Cleveland, Lori Kreinbrink (Dick) of Leipsic, Marsha Ellerbrock (Doug) of Cutler and Amy Balbaugh of Columbus Grove; his brothers, Harold Balbaugh (Leoma) of Miller City and Melvin Balbaugh (Carolyn) of Miller City; and his sisters-in-law, Mary Balbaugh and Velma Balbaugh. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren.
Prior to covid, he ate out quite often and would never turn down a pizza at Fat Jack's.
