He was predeceased by: his parents, William Muriel and Annabelle Marie Burson (Mongold). He is survived by: his sons, Richard Burson (Shawnda), Chuck Burson (Anna) and Chris Burson (Krista); his grandchildren, Ashley, Zach, Jordan Burson, Justin Burson, Norah, Jennah and Dalelyn Burson; his close friend Jax; the mother of his children Nola Ann Humphrey; and his sisters, Becky Stirr, Carol Dement and Sharon Ford. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
