She was predeceased by: her parents, George J. Bitter and Mabel A. Bitter (Beckman); and her brother John Bitter. She is survived by: her daughters, Karen Cutcher (Bruce) and Jill Kao (Alan); her husband Clarence R. Smithers; her sons, Mark Smithers and Eric Smithers (Sara); her grandchildren, Joshua Cutcher (Ashley), Stephanie Smithers, Amanda Cutcher, Samuel Smithers and Nicholas Smithers; her great grandchildren, Emma and Josie Cutcher; and her siblings, Elanie Arnold, Marilyn Beckman and Rachel Fox. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
