He is survived by: his significant other Mary Sims (Heydinger); his children, Monica Leppelmeier (Kyle) and David Sims Jr. (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Addyson, Connor, Annalee Leppelmeier and Lukas Sims; his brothers, Ronald Sims (Linda), Keith Sims (Pam) and Kenneth Sims (Karen); his aunt Wilda Sims; and his pets, Bailey and Ruger.
