He is survived by: his wife Linda Dietz; his children, James Michael Dietz Jr. and Rebecca Ann Johnston (Bruce Jr.); his grandchildren, Robert (Lilly), Jonathan (Emma), Hailey (Tyler), Taylor, Matthew, Abbey and Jackson; his great grandchildren, Preston, Derek, Nicoletta and Gianna; and his siblings, Judy Beck (late John), Jeanne Johnson (Charles), Jerry Dietz (Linda) and Joe Dietz (Daria).

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Disabled American Veterans, the Alzheimer's Association or Blue Grass Hospice.
