He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert J. Merwine and Gladys Foust Merwine; and his sister Helen Merwine. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Coomes Merwine; his son Fred Merwine Jr. (Kathy); his granddaughters, Monica Merwine and Thalia Merwine; his great grandchildren, River Phillips and Thunder Phillips; his stepgranddaughter Ella Herrmann; and his sisters, Virginia Jackson and Bonnie Porter.
