He was predeceased by: his father John Wesley; his wife Norma Lee (O'Dell); his son Roy Dale Abston (Noretta); and his siblings, Earl, Billy, Jessie Abston, Kathleen Abston, Maxine Warner and Linda Hammons.
He is survived by: his daughter Deborah Kay "Gravel Gertie" Booth (Roger) of Norwalk; his grandson Daniel John Wesley Booth (Hannah) of Huron; his brother Paul Abston (Hettie) of Elkview, WV; and his grandchildren, Zoey, Aubri and Braxton. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
