He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Nealey and Carol Nealey (Stubbs); and his son Johnny L. Woods, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Betty Eichel; his sibling Hills Park; his children, Chuck Woods (Lori), Tom Woods (Bev), Betty Wardell (Bill), Deb Meadows (Mark) and Gloria Woods (Kenny); and his sister Linda Mann (Kenny) of Roswell. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
