He was predeceased by: his parents, James Henry and Margaret Elizabeth Clatworthy (Yeauger); his wife Dorothy Jean Clatworthy (King); and his siblings, James Clatworthy Jr., Virginia Neutzling Buchanan and Dorothy Louise Long.
He is survived by: his children, Sammy Ray Clatworthy (Sandy), Ocean Pines, James William Clatworthy (Rhonda), Ellabell and Sandra Kay Schilling (Dennis); his grandchildren, Michele Austin, Mike Clatworthy, Matthew Clatworthy, Jason Clatworthy, Justin Clatworthy, Crissy Clatworthy, Curtis Clatworthy, Kim Jackson, Steven Schilling and Lesley of Michigan; and his nieces, Twila Childs and Joyce Redman. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
