Lorin "Popeye" Royer | Heritage Cremation & Burial Society - Ohio Simple Cremations and Burials.

Lorin J. "Popeye" Royer age 93 passed away March 22, 2023 at Woodlawn Compassionate Care, due to complications related to a short illness. Lorin resided in Stark County, Ohio all his life. Lorin was "a good and faithful servant" all his life serving others but most of all his wife and family. His love language was acts of service. He was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. He loved Ohio State Football, and the Cleveland Browns. He was an avid hunter when younger and had German shorthair pointers as companions for 45 years. Most of all, Lorin will be remembered as a man of God.

He is preceded in death by his twin brother, Orin "Hank" and younger brother, Melvin.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of 66 years; four children, Kathy of North Canton, Karen (John) Slabaugh of Hartville, Mark (Susan) of Pineville, NC, and Kay Dawn of Louisville; sister, Marveine, of Waxhaw, NC; younger brother, Dave, of Indianapolis, IN; four granddaughters; one grandson; two granddaughters-in-law; one grandson-in-law; and five great-grandchildren, whom he adored.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Middlebranch Grace Brethren Church, 2911 Williams Street NE, Middlebranch, Ohio 44652, on April 15th. Visiting with family starts at 1 PM, with service to follow. In lieu of flowers please donate money to Middlebranch Grace Brethren Church.
