With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of John L. Colwell of Miamisburg, Ohio, born in Hazard, Kentucky, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 8, 2025 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid John farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For John is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elbert Colwell and Georgia Colwell (Combs); his wife Dorothy L. Lacey Colwell; his son Jonathan Bradley Colwell; and his brothers, Charlie and Estel Colwell.
He is survived by: his daughter Holly Ann Thomas Bausmith; his grandson William Emerson Bausmith IV (Rebecca Seward); and his brother Herman Colwell (Brenda).
