He was predeceased by: his father James Halstead McKinnon; his brother Daniel McKinnon; and his stepfather Harry Wall. He is survived by: his mother Shirley Ann Wall (Leyes); his wife Mary McKinnon; his children, James McKinnon (Thomas Humbert), Daniel Harper, Blake Harper, Kimberly McKinnon and Ashley Peck (J. R.); and his siblings, Michael McKinnon (Michele) and Janice Carpenter. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
