It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Carolyn Applegate of Miamisburg, Ohio, born in New Castle, Indiana, who passed away on August 6, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Clarence Groves; her husband Thomas M. Applegate; her grandson Steven T. Applegate; and her foster son Craig Reeder. She is survived by: her children, Thomas Scott Applegate (Krisann), Teresa S. Scarpelli (Al) and Trent Applegate; her daughter-in-law Kate Reeder; her grandchildren, Julie Saco (Matthew), Lisa Scarpelli and Thomas A. Applegate (Jaime); her great grandchild Andrew Saco; her brothers, Merlin Groves (Evelyn) and Marvin Groves (Margaret); and her siblings-in-law, Priscilla Duttenhaver and David Applegate (Sheila). She is also survived by many aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to the American Heart Association or Dayton Friends Meeting.
