He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Shaffer and Sylvia Shaffer (Mossing); and his granddaughter Sierah Joughin. He is survived by: his wife Cathy Shaffer; his children, Sheila Vaculik (Matt), Zack Shaffer (Cathy) and Tara Ice (Howard); and his grandchildren, Hunter, Avah, Zack, Emily, Nick, Nathan, Shyla and Aliya. He is also survived by his family and friends.
