Ronald Morgan Bare Obituary
Ronald Morgan Bare, Sr. age 81 of Mentor, passed quietly in his sleep at his home on May 31, 2023. He was born May 4, 1942, in Youngstown to the late Harry and Jean Katherine (nee: Morgan) Bare.
Ron was a Navy Veteran and served four years during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked and owned Garfield Auto Parts Store with his late father and brother. Prior to joining the family business, Ron was an architect and took great pride in his work. He loved to recount stories of his architect days when passing buildings, he had worked on. He was most fond of his work, moving Mercy Hospital in Canton. Ron was a passionate boater and enjoyed the Great Lakes. He was a member and Past Commodore of both Mentor Lagoons Yacht Club and The Captains Yacht Club. Ron was also a member of IOBG District 7 FHYC, American Legion #0273, VFW Post #9295 where he was a lifetime member, F.O.E. #4251, and the Moose Lodge # 1199.
Survivors are his loving wife, Kelly J. (nee: Brandt) Bare; children, Christina (Robert) Wallace, Ron M. (Denise) Bare Jr., Keith (Sheila) Bare, Cheryl Brandt, Crystal Brandt, and Jessica Brandt; grandchildren, Jackie Wallace, Tim Wallace, Cole Doberstyn, Cecelia Shier, Teegan Shier, Calysta Detling, and Bradley Byko; and a great grandson, Holden Duby.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Brian Bare; as well as his high school sweetheart and loving wife of 48 years, Valerie L. (nee: Henrietta) Bare.
A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 4-6PM at Johnson Funeral Home, 368 Mentor Ave., Painesville, Ohio 44077, with Military Honors conducted at 6:00PM.
