He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbert Gates and Sadie Gates (Hays). He is survived by: his wife Connie Secrest; his children, Susan Gates of Ohio City and Frank Gates (Kim) of Mendon; his grandson Mason; and his siblings, Lois Gates of Sidney and Gary Gates of Sidney.
