He was predeceased by: his parents, Algie Bruce and Annie Bruce (Lester); his wife Betty Bruce; and his sisters, Leah, Lorraine and Ruth.
He is survived by: his son Billy Joe Bruce, Jr.; his grandchildren, Lori Herrfurth (Chris), Lisa Carlson (Rodney) and Matthew Bruce (Nichole); his stepson Michael; and his stepgrandsons, Chris Scowden (Krystina) and Brian Scowden (Jennifer). He is also survived by five step great grandchildren.
