He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Esser and Mary Esser; and his sons, Eric and Thomas. He is survived by: his wife Antonia; his children, Christine (Jonathan), Chris (Katie), Jennifer and Nick (Brittney); and his grandchildren, Dezaree, Bobby, Colin, Grace, Jeff, Roman, Peyton and Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Hospice of Western Reserve or St. Jude.
