He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan; his children, Diane Bednar (Jim), Christopher Markert (Melissa), David Markert (Gretchen), Sharon Markert (Khalid), Stephen Markert (Wendy) and Eric Markert (Rebecca); his grandchildren, Brendan, Meaghan, Rachel, Luke, Jacob, Ellie, Katie, Josh, Charlie, Jack, Peter, Ben, Evelyn and Caroline; and his parents, Edward Markert and Margaret Markert.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul and mailed to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
