She was predeceased by: her parents, Willis Whiteman and Evelyn Whiteman (Heasley); and her sister Chris Knapp. She is survived by: her husband Bruce Byerly; her sons, Greg (Amy) and Doug Byerly (Susie); her grandchildren, Hannah, Andrew, Kaitlyn and Vivian; and her brother Edward Whiteman (Terri).
