She was predeceased by: her parents, Marjorie E. Howell and Clair Wertz; her husband Nick Brooks; her son Tony Brooks; and her stepfather Steve Barsic.
She is survived by: her daughter Janice Brooks (Keith Barker); her siblings, Ronnie Barsic, Nancy Saffle and Brenda Powell; and her close friend Colleen Brooks. She is also survived by companions were her beloved dogs.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your local animal shelter of choice in Karen's memory.
