He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Nelson and Chessie Nelson (Mullins); his daughter Susie; and his siblings, Madeline Boggs, Reva Snodgrass, Virgil Nelson, Dorothy Keener, Catherine Bargar and Glada Lanham.
He is survived by: his wife Lutheria (Rhodes); his daughters, Cyndi Oney (Ron) and Norma Jesse (Dave); his grandchildren, Jonathan (Andrea), Michael Oney, Zachary Jesse and Erin Curran (Alex); his great grandchildren, Evelyn Marcin, Ellington Oney and Curran; and his siblings, Myrl Bailey, Nancy Lambey and Jerry Nelson (Verneda). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
