He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Hence and Dovie Smith (Bull); his wife Roberta M. Whetstone; and his siblings, Tim Smith (Jean), John Smith (Eula), Versie Bowman (Bill), Vassie Cunningham (Alva), T. H. Smith (Nancy), H. C. Smith (Sandy), Dester Smith (Jean) and Ely Cook (Clyde).
He is survived by: his daughter Jeany Smith Stouffer (Bob); and his brother-in-law Leonard Whetstone (Mary). He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
