He was predeceased by: his father Samuel Wilmot Carnes; and his wife Frances D. Carnes. He is survived by: his children, Michael Allen Carnes, Robert D. Carnes, Jr., Teresa Carnes and Lisa Peyton; his grandchildren, Jack, Derek Carnes, Alysha Swiney and Amya Carnes; and his great grandchildren, Camryn, Cali, Jackson, Dylan, Crew, William, Ariah and Avery.
