He was predeceased by: his parents, Estel Dawson and Fay Benjamin Dawson; his wife Sylvia Powell Dawson; and his daughters, Julie Lee Edmonson (Kevin) and Lori Lynn McCoy (Mike).
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Erin Morrison of Zanesville, Kelly Edmonson of East Fultonham, Michael McCoy (Trisha) of Stockport, Alisha McCoy of Stockport and Ashley King (Copen) of Oklahoma; and his son-in-law Kevin Edmonson of Zanesville. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.
