He was predeceased by: his parents, John D. Newland and Inell Newland (Thomas); and his wife Yvonne Newland. He is survived by: his stepson Richard L. Goldsmith Sr. (Phyllis); and his brothers, Tom Newland (Beth) and Joe Newland.
