He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Shank and Anne Petersen (Rowland); his children, Justin and Amy Shank; and his brothers-in-law, Lupe Villarreal and Dennis Walters.

He is survived by: his children, Wendy Hepfinger (Rusty) and Jason Shank; his grandchildren, Brittani, Brandi, Alysa, Abby, Kara, Debra Villarreal, Tamey Amos (Richard), Cathy Walters, Brenda Ruder (Jim) and Rick Shank (Tammy); and his stepfather Burdell "Pete" Petersen.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wendy Hepfinger to help with funeral expenses.
