He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Sr. Tietje and Viola Tietje (Bern); and his brother Eldon Tietje. He is survived by: his wife Elaine Drittler; his children, Julie, Brian and David Tietje; and his sisters, Wanda Mlinarik and Linda Logsdon.

Memorial contributions may be made to Peace Lutheran Church, American Diabetes Association, and The Damascus Township Fire and Rescue.
