He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Ottinger and Ethel Ottinger (Joy); his son James; and his siblings, Ben Fetterly and Twilla Coulter.

He is survived by: his wife Joann Ottinger (Kepling); his sons, Asa Ottinger, Jr. (Toni) and Randall Ottinger; his grandchildren, Joe Ottinger (Amy), Greg Ottinger (Rebecca Newell) and Maryann Ottinger; and his sister Sharon Giesge (Tim).

Memorial contributions are suggested to the CHP Inpatient Hospice Center.
