He was predeceased by: his parents, Manley M. Ellis and Alice Ely Ellis; his wife Betty Coffey Ellis; his close friend Ruth Evans; his granddaughter Sherry Myers; his siblings, Barbara Amick, Kenneth and Arthur Ellis; his stepbrothers, Walter and Junior Stephenson; and his stepdaughter Patricia Myers.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, John Craig (Mary) of McArthur, Doris "Dot" Harris (Jeff) of Zaleski, Sarah Barker (Don) of Boise, Betty Mansperger of Londonderry, Brenda Carrington (Steve) of Englewood, Shirley Sheets (Keith) of Londonderry and Joyce Wright of Wellston; his girlfriend Betty Thacker of Allensville; his sister Charlotte Eggleston of Florida; and his son-in-law Richard Myers. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
