He is survived by: his parent Opal Campbell Bethel; his children, Melissa Robson (Stormy) of McArthur, Merle Matthew Bethel Jr. (Linda) of Allensville and Clifford Ray Bethel (Cindy) of Moore Haven, Florida; his grandchildren, Matt Bethel (Evette), Travis Bethel (Ashleigh), Christopher Bethel (Stacy), Melissa Ruzic (Matjaz), Abraham Ray Bethel (Lori), Alexi Bethel (Carolina) and Audrey Robson; and his stepsister Donna Seitz of Allensville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
