He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert G. Mercer and Alma Claradene Tatman Mercer; his siblings, Betty Pinkerton, Paul, Vernon and Gerald Mercer; and his niece Wendy Mercer.
He is survived by: his wife Jean McLain Mercer; his daughters, Connie Mercer of McArthur and Carolyn Mercer of McArthur; his grandchildren, Kelly Covey (Greg) of McArthur and Lesley Eldridge (Heath) of Jackson; his great grandchildren, Ashlynn Canode, Easton Canode (Trinity), Kaden Covey and Hutchison Eldridge; his great great grandchild Oakley Canode; and his brother Roger Mercer (Vonda) of McArthur. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
