He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, George Smith and Marie Smith (Ilg); his wife Jeanette Landrum (Jan); his grandfather John A. Smith; his sons, Dr. Gregory Smith (Cindy) of Maumee, Douglas Smith of Seattle, WA and Andrew Smith (Beth) of Cary, NC.; his grandchildren, Brandon, Ashley and Lindsey; his great grandchildren, Levi, Zeke and Caleb; his siblings, Robert, John, Margaret Mary and Anne Marie; and his grandson Bradley Smith.
