She was predeceased by: her parents, James Elmer Matthews and Sadie Viola McKinney Matthews of Sharon, PA.; her friends, LaVerne "Bunny" Porter, Geraldine "Geri" Dunnavant, Carrie Allen, Helen Mitchell, Fran Mitchell, Amelia "Mitsi" Whiteside and Dorothy Massey; her sister-in-law Dorothy Matthews; and her husband Allen.
She is survived by: her children, Allen Douglas (Cheryl), Gina Williams Green, Sherry Louise Venable (Troy) of Columbus, OH and Matthew McKinney (Toinina); her sisters-in-law, Laureta Matthews (Shelton), Shirley Jean Matthews (Walter) and Faythe Matthews (William); her uncle Douglas Williams; her niece Veretta Matthews; her friends, Beverly Douthit and Gloria McFarland; her close friend Mother Martha Martin; her siblings, Gertrude Elizabeth Dixon (James), Baby Mary Matilda Matthews, James Mendez, Harold Emmet Matthews (Ruth), Shelton McKinney Matthew, William Franklin Matthews (Dorothy), Kenneth Truman Matthews (Gloria), Elmer Earl "Doc" Matthews (Jeanette), Walter Edward "Jeep" Matthews, Carl Theodore "Champ" Matthews and Clarence Roy Matthews (Nan); and her grandson Matthew McKinney Williams Jr..
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Cedar Avenue Church of God (1045 Cedar Ave, Sharon, PA 16146). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
