She was predeceased by: her daughter Shirley Baker. She is survived by: her son Keith Baker; her grandson Keith Baker II (Erica); her extended family, Karen, Ashley and Brandon Johnson; and her grandchildren, Khalil, Khaliope, Kahalivia, Brandon Jr. and Brock.

Donations in Verdella's memory can be made to Friendship Baptist Church.
